Go to the Pine is running a workshop for children at Iwade School on 19th May. The children will engange in a sesory exploration of their local orchard while learning about some of its unique wild inhabitants. Afterwards, they will write haiku about their orchard experiences.
Their work will be collated and turned into a zine for distribution at a celebratory event to take place on June 17th. At the event, I will be reading some of my own poems about the landscape, including one written especially for the occasion, to flute music performed by Dave Bowdler.
The workshop has been put on in collaboration with the Medway Swale Estuary Partnership as part of the Kent Orchards for Everyone project. Thanks are due to both Mark Loos and Pippa Palmar for it possible.
